The Rev. Rich Wilson
Deacon

Deacon Rich is from the Metro East St. Louis area, on the Illinois side of the Mississippi.  He is married to Kathie and they have a blended family of 9 children and 14 grandchildren.  He grew up in the newspaper and printing business, operating a $14M enterprise before selling the company in 1983.  Rich then entered the communications business, working 25 years at AT&T.  He was a Regional Sales Vice President, moving to Orlando in 2009, retiring in 2011.  He then worked for two years as a Vice President and Portfolio Manager for Deschaine and Company.  In 2011 he also began volunteering at Covenant House (homeless youth) and Recovery House of Central Florida (men with addictions).  In 2013 he started his training as a hospital chaplain, graduating from 4 units of Clinical Pastoral Education in 2015.  In 2017, he began worshiping at St. Richard’s, and his diaconal studies and field work.  In May of this year, Rich graduated from Warner University with a Bachelor’s of Science in Transformational Ministry, and was ordained a deacon in the Episcopal Diocese of Central Florida, and assigned to St. Richard’s, on September 9, 2017.  Today, Rich works with the sick and dying, prisoners, men with addictions, and the homeless – especially homeless youth.  Outside his ministry at St. Richard’s, he still works at Covenant House, Recovery House, and Lake Correctional Institution.  He has just begun working at the Seminole County Jail.
