2022  MyStrichards_button2022  Enews_button2022

As we Kick Off our Pledge Drive Campaign, "Every Perfect Gift" we will feature four pledge drive speakers. Our first speaker is Cydney Ogilvie. She has been a member of St. Richard's for three years. She is currently serving her first year on the vestry and is the liaison for the Justice Committee. Her service to St. Richard's also includes being a volunteer in the office, altar guild, regular volunteer at the Coalition for the Homeless feeding ministry.

Pledge Cards will be mailed to each household on October 25. I include a brief reflection on the gift that St. Richard's is to me in the pledge card. "What is the best gift you have ever received? This is the question that the designers of The Episcopal Stewardship Network ask in their theological reflection on the theme for this year,  Every Perfect Gift. The image they have used is that  of the butterfly and chrysalis. The butterfly represents rebirth and freedom. The Greek word for butterfly is psyche, a word that also translates as spirit. The butterfly represents spiritual transformation that can and does occur in us and sets us free to discover God’s grace in generous acts of giving. St. Richard’s provides the spiritual home where many of us have experienced a spiritual transformation that inspires us to give of ourselves, our time and talent and treasure. Those spiritual changes in ourselves often lead to a change in the wider world.

What is the best gift I have ever received? The gift of the St. Richard’s Community. You have been a gift from above that has inspired me to love because of your great love, inspired my children to give of their time and talent and treasure without condition because that is the example you have set for them. Your pledge is a gift that ensures this community will not just survive but continue to flourish in new and beautiful ways. Thank you for giving the Perfect Gift of St. Richard’s Community to the world."
