Same Sex Marriage Task Force Report and Open Forum

Stephen O'Connell, Schola Member, Vestry Member and Convention Delegate served on the Task Force to discuss Same Sex Marriage in the Diocese of Central Florida over the past year. There is a report generated from their work. Thursday, February 21, 7:00 p.m. will be an Open Forum to Discuss the Report at  Church of the Ascension, 4950 S. Apopka Vineland, Orlando FL 32819. We would like as many folks from St. Richard's as possible to attend the Open Forum.  RSVP to Alison, 407-671-4211, and show your support for Stephen and our LGBTQ+ brothers and sisters in the Diocese.

The Massacre in Ocoee will be commemorated on November 2, 2020
The Rev. Dr. Harry Coverston, assisting priest at St. RIchard's, has been involved with the Alliance for Truth and Justice for many years.
Below, please find an article from the Orlando Sentinel that describes the Occoe Masscre and the work that has been and is being done around remembering the dangerous truth of our past here in Central Florida.
Harry says: "This is the unforeseen work my life has led me to. The Massacre in Ocoee will be commemorated on November 2, 2020 with the unveiling of a historic marker in the Ocoee Civic Center. I will be leading an interfaith service as a part of that weeklong commemoration on Friday, November 6 in Ocoee. July Perry’s lynching has been memorialized with a historical marker in downtown Orlando. And the Orange County Regional History Center exhibit, Yesterday, this was home has just opened as well.

Our Alliance for Truth and Justice is finally seeing some of our hard work pay off. But do not kid yourself. This struggle is far from over, as this article well reveals."
